WORLD BEST DRUM COMPETITION
THE DRUMMER
The DRUM COMPETITION, the main program of the Seoul Drum Festival, hosted by the Seoul
Metropolitan Government, will recruit participants from April 5 to April 28, 2023.
Winners of the general (professional) category will be given a variety of awards from
sponsors.
Winners will have opportunities to perform on the main stage of the ‘2024 Seoul Drum
Festival’ and magazine interviews.
Winners of the general (amateur) category will also receive diverse awards from
sponsors.
Winners of the student category (elementary/middle/high school) will be given an Award
Certificate from the Mayor of Seoul Metropolitan Government.
We hope many talented drummers from all over the world will participate.
| Registration process for the Seoul Drum Festival
■ Application period : Apr. 5 (Wed), 2023 – Apr. 28 (Fri), 2023, by 6 pm
(KST)
■ Eligible participants : Drum lovers; Anyone with passion for the
drum
- Application available as a solo drummer or as a team (band)
- Participation of General (Professional) Category is open to people all over the world.

① The video must be filmed or posted within the last 6 months, and it must ensure clear
verification of your identity.
※ If your identity verification is not possible after comparing it
with the submitted ID photo, your participation will be excluded from the evaluation
process.
② It must be a solo drum playing or band performance video (MR or electronic music is allowed),
and the screening and evaluation will focus on drum performance.
③ It is prohibited to register/upload a video of another person by proxy on your behalf. If this
case is confirmed, your application or award may be cancelled.
| Criteria for screening
The final rank will be decided the evaluation of judges of the ‘Final
round’.
※ Barometer for screening: Artistic value + Techniques +
Originality/Creativity + Performance
※ The evaluation score will not be publicly announced, and the barometer for screening and
distribution of scores are subject to change partially.
